Food Safety Statement

Food safety is at the heart of everything we cook.

Last updated: January 2026

1. Standards we follow

Our kitchen operates in accordance with the Canadian Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), provincial public-health requirements and HACCP-based principles.

2. Trained team

Every food handler completes accredited Food Handler Certification and ongoing training in allergen management, personal hygiene and safe temperature control.

3. Supplier standards

We work with reputable, inspected suppliers. Meat is certified halal and sourced from licensed processors. Produce is inspected on arrival and rotated using first-in-first-out stock control.

4. Temperature and hygiene controls

  • Cold storage held at 4 °C or below.
  • Freezer storage at -18 °C or below.
  • Cooked food held hot at 60 °C or above until packed for delivery.
  • Daily cleaning schedules with documented checks.
  • Colour-coded boards and utensils to prevent cross-contact.

5. Packaging & delivery

Hot food is packed in insulated containers and dispatched as soon as it is ready. Drivers carry food in insulated bags to maintain temperature in transit.

6. Inspections

Our premises are subject to inspection by the local public-health unit. Inspection results are available on request.

7. Reporting concerns

If you ever have a concern about the safety of food you received from us, contact us immediately at hello@tikkaandtreats.co.uk. We investigate every report and respond promptly.
